The Redroom formed in 2019 with Jess Lewis-Ward on vocals and rhythm guitar, Jake Elliott on lead guitar, Dominic Aldridge on bass, Matthew Dodds on keys and synthesisers and Charlie McDonald on drums, the band has already surpassed 100,000 streams on Spotify.

Coffee is a breezy, uplifting song by the Manchester based band, it sounds very commercial in a way where I can easily imagine this song playing at a coffee shop. This song is definitely targeted towards young, easy going individuals who love being in love and can’t wait for their future and adventures to come towards them.

The chorus is catchy, almost infectious as it stays in your head for quite a long time, it’s a fresh song that gives you a feeling of a never ending summer love story.

“I actually wrote Coffee when I was 16, during the first lockdown. Left it in a back pocket for a few years then circled back to it when the band started to explore a different style of writing. It went through quite a few phases before the final finished product but I feel like it encapsulates our new sound, alongside my younger self. I guess you could say it’s about young love and feeling love romantically properly for the first time’ -Jess Lewis-Ward, singer of the band.

The cover art, done by Jack Tully is colourful and vibrant, very eye catching and it fits the song and the bands’ vibe almost perfectly.

“The next couple of months are looking pretty good for gigs. Opening the Main Stage of Hardwick for The Kooks, playing the Climate Live stage at Leeds Fest, our headlines in Manchester and Newcastle and Gathering Sounds in Stockton. It definitely feels like we’re back on a roll and to join our Newcastle headline in with the single release feels great!” – Jess Lewis-Ward.
