Let It ROCK, Let It ROLL, Let It GO!
Def Leppard did not disappoint!

The DefCrüe stadium tour kicked off last year across America that stirred many DefCrüe heads including people who are fans of Poison and of course Joan Jett & The Blackhearts.
Def Leppard proved once again, they still got what it takes to be rockstars, they brought amazing energy to the stage and there was a clear message from them: we’re not going anywhere!
Just recently done a classical album, Drastic Symphonies, Def Leppard entered number 1 on the classical music charts. How cool!
About the concert, there was an even mix of preserving the past, looking back at what they have achieved so far, past events and everyone went crazy over Pour Some Sugar On Me. They played all the top hits everyone knows and loves, the visuals matched the songs and whoever is in charge of the visuals, they need to be promoted. Joe Elliott did not change at all, he owned the stage and engaged with the audience as much as he could. Do You Wanna Get Rocked? Hell yeah! It was refreshing to see the joy on their faces while playing because we all know there are many big bands out there who are only in it for the money but with Def Leppard, it was all about giving a proper show for people that love and adore them. I would like to mention Rick Allen’s amazing drum solo, it was such a sight to see. Rick Savage and his fashion sense is something I will always look for as inspiration. The Phil Collen and Vivian Campbell duo did not disappoint.
Letting Def Leppard go on stage before Mötley Crüe was a bad choice because they outshone them in every aspect. Nowadays there are many controversies surrounding Crüe, people accusing them of using backtracking and so on. When I saw the news I knew I wanted to be the judge of that because I did not believe it but I have to agree, compared to what Def Leppard brought to the table, Mötley Crüe did disappoint me a little.
After Def Leppard, there was a rough 25 minute break where the crew was desperately trying to build up the stage that wasn’t noticeable from afar at all. The crowd started chanting “WE WANT CRÜE!!” and after a little while Nikki Sixx and the rest of the band ran on stage and the show began.

I only bought tickets because after all, it’s Mötley Crüe (and Def Leppard), I know everything about them. Vince Neil was very energetic but he’s certainly not as great as he was before, Nikki Sixx almost spent more time engaging with his family than with people in the audience, Tommy Lee was being Tommy Lee, he was very witty and did not change. He asked the audience a very straightforward question: Where are your beers? and when he got his answer he went on to an even more Tommy-like question: Where are the titties? which he got no response to, so he pulled up his shirt and showed his own. John 5 got ignored the same way Mick Mars did after he retired from touring. He had a chance to shine during a guitar solo which was amazing, he is a very under appreciated guitarist and a great fit for Mötley Crüe. I’m sure you already know about the fact that Mick Mars sued Crüe because he isn’t getting the payment they had agreed on before he retired from touring and if you would be a new Crüehead and went to one of their concerts, you wouldn’t know there was a guy named Mick Mars. It was a weird sight to see when he just got left out of songs, pictures and artworks, but at the same time John 5 wasn’t in the spotlight either.
It is rather sad that European fans can’t catch Mick Mars on stage anymore, but John 5 is an incredible replacement and without him, the concert would’ve been a big disaster.
The sound was terrible at both shows, I had a hard time figuring out the most well known songs but that is not the bands’ fault.
Def Leppard definitely set the standard for Mötley Crüe that they just couldn’t hit at that venue.
